The latest edition of the DoD Captioning Style Guide, dated 28 OCT 2013, has been released. In addition to more than three dozen new and updated entries, the "Matters of style" chapter has been moved to the front of the publication for ease of use. Operation Damayan, the United States' response to the Philippine government’s request for humanitarian assistance, has led to 12 U.S. Marine KC-130J Hercules helicopters and eight MV-22B Ospreys from 1st Marine Aircraft Wing (1st MAW) to deploy to the Philippines. They provide supplies, assistance to survivors, and transport for military and civilian relief personnel.

DoDI 5040.07 "VI Productions" provides the authorities, policies and procedures to ensure OSD, OJCS, the Military Departments, and Defense Agencies can produce or acquire high quality and cost effective VI productions to meet their communication requirements. Please note all earlier versions of DoDI 5040.07 and DoDI 5040.09 have been rescinded.
